She was predeceased by: her parents, Wendell "Bud" Oliver and Helen Prejean Oliver; and her sister-in-law Una Mae Hargrave. She is survived by: her husband Hubert J. Hargrave; her children, Matthew, Benjamin and Joan; and her sisters, Lisa and Julie. She is also survived by four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Debbie's name to the Lafayette Public Library Foundation.
