Frank Mathews Sr. Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frank Mathews Sr. of Lafayette, Louisiana, who passed away on April 4, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his son Gary Mathews; his parents, Willie Grace and Charles Lewis Mathews; and his brother William G. Mathews. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Hastings Mathews of Lafayette; his children, Brenda Barrett of Lafayette, Charles "Chip" Mathews (Ese) of Houston and Frank "Mick" Mathews, Jr. (Michele) of Austin; his sister Jane Penry (Walter) of Daphne, Ala.; and his grandchildren, Bryan Barrett (Heather), Brady Barrett (Shayla), Blake Barrett (LeAnne Moreau), Bonnie Barrett Comeaux (Adam), Kellie Mathews Degarmo (Roman), Chris Mathews (Sarah), Josh Mathews (Nikky Le), Sean Mathews (Kaitlyn), Jennie Mathews Gitter (Adam), Angeline Mathews and Courtney Mathews Richard (Scott). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
