With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gabriel Joseph Abshire (Lafayette, Louisiana), who passed away on April 15, 2024 at the age of 34. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his siblings, Matthew Abshire, Catherine, Jeremy Ellender, Dominic Abshire, Christian, Theresa Abshire, Jonathan and Scarlet Abshire; his grandparents, George, Lucy Guillot, LeRoy Abshire Sr. and Leola Schexneider; and his close friend Eric Domingue.

He is survived by : his fiancée Katie Lynn Abshire; his children, Bailee and Brett Guidroz; his parents, Barbara Abshire and LeRoy Abshire; his nieces, Olivia and Lucy; and his sons, Thomas, Nicholas (Madysen Johnson), Gauge Potier and Hunter Potier.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Pius X Catholic Church (600 Kaliste Saloom Rd, Lafayette, LA 70508). A rosary was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
