He was predeceased by: his parents, Antoine Batiste and Noida Batiste; his wife Maudry Prejean Batiste; his children, Geraldine Batiste, Bernadine Batiste Journet and David Wayne Batiste; his brother Shelby Batiste; and his sister-in-law Anna Siner Batiste.
He is survived by: his children, George Batiste Jr. of Lafayette, LA and Martha Batiste of Shreveport, LA; and his grandchildren, LaMarco Batiste (Tammy Batiste) of Lafayette, LA, David Batiste of Lafayette, LA, Brandy Batiste of Lafayette, LA, DaVaughan Journet of Lafayette, LA, LaTonya Journet of New Caney, TX and Byron Laneaux (LaShelle) of Shreveport, LA. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren; three godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
