He is survived by: his wife Edith Carolyn Driskell Stokes; his sons, Brent Stokes (Laura) of Lafayette, Brett Stokes (Joan) of Lafayette, Winston Stokes (Brandi) of Lafayette and Keith Stokes of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Drew Stokes (Alison), Meredith Stokes Breaux (Stephen), Brent Stokes Jr. (Melissa), Caroline Stokes of Aimee Stokes, G. W, Stokes III, Taylor Savant and Angelle Stokes; his great grandchildren, Natalee, Grace and Brees; and his sister Lynette Stokes Clarke (John).
