He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Russell Sonnier; and his siblings-in-law, Assad George Asmar, Micheal Broussard, Sidney Racca and Marsha Sonnier.
He is survived by: his mother Shirley Guidry Sonnier of Lafayette; his siblings, Steven Sonnier (Maggie) of Sunset, Tommy Sonnier (Tina) of Pigeon Forge, Suzanne Asmar of Lafayette, Nina Racca of Lafayette and Mary Hebert (Gary) of Lafayette; and his close friend Kraig Short. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (4117 N University Ave, Carencro, LA 70520). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
