It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Geraldine Meche Himel of Lafayette, Louisiana, who passed away on April 10, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Meche and Evelyn Meche; and her brothers, Jimmie Meche and Curtis Meche. She is survived by: her husband Glenn J. Himel; her children, Cheryl Lavergne Campbell of Bloomington, IL, Wayne Lavergne (Linda) of Lafayette and Gregory J. Himel of Lafayette; her siblings, Jennelle Meche of Grand Coteau, Ronald Meche (Viola) of Sunset and Russell Meche of Grand Coteau; and her grandchildren, Amanda Dawson (Tanner), Brittany Coulon (Christian), Amy Tyszkowski and Steven Lavergne. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
