He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Bernard and Olive Savoy; his wife Beverly Cecile Bernard; and his siblings, Isabelle Bonin and Wilton Bernard.

He is survived by: his children, Harold Paul Bernard, Jr. and Renee Bernard Abshire; his grandchildren, Nicholas Paul Abshire (Amelie) and Allison Abshire Daigle (Drew); and his great grandchildren, Caroline Cecile Daigle, Luke Joseph Daigle and Harper Kate Daigle.
