With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Marie O'Connor of Lafayette, Louisiana, born in Ville Platte, Louisiana, who passed away on January 5, 2023 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her husband Elvin O'Connor; her parents, Louis Joubert, Jr. of Plaisance and Anastasia Smith Joubert of Grand Prairie; her siblings, Mayo Joubert, Davis Joubert, Pearl Briley, Gladys Soileau, Angelle Brignac and Elaine Joubert; and her granddaughter Marissa Guillory.
She is survived by: her children, Robert O'Connor (Roxie) of Lafayette, Cynthia "San" Billeaudeau (David) of Port Barre and Annette DeRouen (Brian) of Lafayette; and her grandchildren, Joshua O'Connor, Logan DeRouen, Brittani Guidry, Chant Fontenot and Rikki Bourque. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
