He was predeceased by : his parents, Adrain Lee and Ola Lea Varnado; his brother Adrain Varnado Jr.; and his daughter Hannah Grace Varnado. He is survived by : his wife Becky; his children, Jesse Varnado (Kelly), Tamara Emerson and Paul Varnado (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Abel Varnado, Elias Varnado, Wells Ohman, Ruby Varnado, Asher Varnado, Poppy Ohman and Miles Varnado; his sister Ann Windborn; and his in-laws, Jim and Karen Blackburn. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Walters Funeral Home (2424 N University Ave, Lafayette, LA 70507). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.

Howard was such a strong supporter of Christian ministries making a local and international impact, so in lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor his life can make a donation to Royal Lineage International Ministries.
