It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Imelda Babineaux McKinley of Lafayette, Louisiana, who passed away on February 8, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Beulah Babineaux and Adelma Babineaux; her husband Clarence McKinley; her children, Raleigh J. Guillory Jr. and Priscilla Marie Guillory; her siblings, Ernest, Horace, Wilbert, George Babineaux, Minerva B. Plummer and Odelia B. George; and her grandson Terrance F. K. Jackson.

She is survived by: her daughters, Pearl Joseph, Clarelda McKinley and Bonnie Butler (Don); and her sister Philomena B. Skipper (Clarence Jr.). She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 21 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

“My sincere condolences to Ms Imelda’s family. I affectionately called her “the sweet dough pie queen”. I used to order my pies every holiday. She was the best for some good old fashioned fig pies. She was so sweet, kind and accommodating. I miss her pies, but when COVID hit she said she had to stop taking orders. I understood her health was more important. Rest well Ms Imelda🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽”
