He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosita Simpson Bernard and Joseph Bernard of Carencro; his wife Mattie Duhon Bernard; and his siblings, Alvin, Calvin Bernard, Nellie Bernard, Hazel Comeaux, Nelsie Jean Saulsberry and Mazie Baker.
He is survived by: his daughter Sandy Broussard (Kenneth); his grandchildren, Corey Anderson, Sr. (Davida) and Taylor Broussard; his great grandchildren, Tori Anderson, Corey Anderson, Jr. and Bailey Anderson; and his sister Darlene "Dot" Mouton.
