He was predeceased by: his parents, Hollie H. Blackburn and Edna Richardson Blackburn; his son John William Blackburn; and his granddaughter Brittany Ward. He is survived by: his wife Karen Baker Blackburn of Lafayette, LA; his children, Dr. James H. Blackburn, II and Hollie Blackburn Ward (William) of Lafayette, LA; and his stepchildren, Kayla Powell (Michael) of Lafayette, LA and Matthew Bernard (Charlette) of Lafayette, LA. He is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren; his three step grandchildren; his twenty nine great-grandchildren and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.
