He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Blackwell and Mable Blackwell; and his siblings, Rose Mae Prejean, Myrtle George, Evelyn Alexander, Junius Blackwell, Clarence Blackwell and Felton Blackwell.
He is survived by: his children, Freda Blackwell and Christie Blackwell; his sisters, Eva Edmond, Clara Blackwell and Ruth Alexander (Cleveland); his grandchildren, Christopher Jackson (Tiffany), Jasmine Doucet (Xavier), Jaylin Doucet, Brandon Blackwell and Keelan Blackwell; and his great grandchildren, Amari Johnson, Jaydah Perrodin, Christopher Jackson, Jr., Amoni Doucet, Zaila Blackwell, Jr. and Elyse Blackwell. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 16, 2022, at Syrie Funeral Home from 12:00 p. m. until 1:30 p. m. All those in attendance must wear a mask or face covering.
