He was predeceased by: his former wife Barbara Louise Deaton; his wife Brenda Sue Haynes; his grandson Eric Michael Hebert; his parents, Samuel Holden and Jewell Harris Holden; and his siblings, Sam Ray Holden and Amanda Margaret "Margo" H. Racca.
He is survived by: his children, Margaret H. Trahan (Louis Keith), Mary H. Duhon, Caroline H. Boudreau and Joseph Benjamin Holden of Lafayette; his sister Edith H. "Dee Dee" Kessler of Sulphur; his grandsons, Deaton Trahan, Adam Trahan, Jared Duhon, Jude Duhon and Logan Hebert; and his great grandchild Aaron Hebert. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Geesey-Ferguson Chapel (301 N Ave F, Crowley, LA 70526). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:45 AM at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
