He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Otis Sonnier, Sr. and Agnes Venable; and his siblings, Loray Sonnier, Jennie Lee Matte, Delsy Jagneaux and Verna "Bonnie" Olivier.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Lavergne Sonnier; his children, Don Kevin Sonnier (Maxine), Lisa Sonnier Lantier (Steve) and Dana Sonnier Guidry (Brian); his grandchildren, Amanda Credeur, Lauren Emig, Jeremy Guidry, Travis Sonnier, Katherine Waliser, Colby Guidry and Madeleine Lantier; and his siblings, Norma Olivier, Charles Otis Sonnier, Jr., Linda McBride and Joey Sonnier. He is also survived by 16 great-great grandchildren.
