He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph S. Petro Sr. and Dominique Petro of Florida; his wife Sylvia Ashy Petro; his sister Rosemarie Koury; his children, Cynthia Petro Frisby, Kenneth Petro and Gregory Petro; his grandson Jason Petro; and his son-in-law Roger Talbot.
He is survived by: his sister Cathy Petro; his children, Joseph S. Petro III (Connie), Paul Petro, Mary Petro Kidder (Ronald), Freda Petro Talbot, George Petro (Patti), Sylvia Petro Tongate (Jacky), Ronnie Frisby and Brenda Petro; his grandchildren, Daniel Boudreaux, Joshua Talbot (Taneeya), T. J. Delhomme (Annie), Colby Kidder, Trevor Kidder, Michael Talbot (Bryan), Lindsey Petro Budden (Blake), Robbie Petro Lefevre (Matt), Tiffany Leger, Jared Leger and Leah Tongate; his great grandchildren, Taylor Boudreaux (Kourtnie), Kealie Petro, Harper Talbot, Anna Kidder, Kayla Kidder, Baillie Kidder, Lily Kidder, Logan Budden, Olivia Budden, Madeline Budden, Owen Lefevre, Reid Lefevre, Londyn Thompson, Channing McDaniels, Amielle McDaniels, Olivia Richards, Landon Leger, Gavyn Leger, Gunner Leger and Lexi Leger; his great great grandchildren, Graham Boudreaux and Annie Boudreaux; and his sister-in-law Beverly Ackal.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Delhomme Funeral Home - Lafayette (1011 Bertrand Dr, Lafayette, LA 70506). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Church (914 St John St, Lafayette, LA 70501). An entombment will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery (2111 W Pinhook Rd, Lafayette, LA 70508).
