He was predeceased by: his parents, John Young and Emma Young; his sons, Ivan Christopher Young and Theodore "Teddy" Young; and his siblings, Harry Young, Fred Young, Dalton Young (Cora), Earnest Young (Victoria), Roy Young (Shirley), Willis Young (Rita), Mable Cormier (Milton Sr.) and Verna Williams (Albert).
He is survived by: his wife Helen Young of Lafayette; his brother John Young (Anne); his children, Phillatta Guidry (Charles), Brittle Young-Taylor (John), Ralina Young-Malarcher (Kendall), Troy Young, Van Young (Dalaina), Carey Young (Pamela), Glenn Young (Stephanie), Joey Young (Nicole) and Peter Young (Tonya); and his goddaughter Cecile Johnson (Zachary). He is also survived by grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren.
