He is survived by: his sons, Johnafort Jay Bernard (Cynthia) and Shelton J. Cobb (Rebecca); his daughter-in-law Tina Graves; his granddaughters, Dominique Bernard, Christy Cobb, Angela Alexander, Romona Dawson and Mary Ann Fisher; and his sisters-in-law, Anna Landry and Betty Landry. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
