He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Kuhnell and Clara Gutmann; and his pet Maximilian. He is survived by: his wife Claire Fisher; his stepson McKinley Fisher-Lynd of Lafayette; his sons, Louis Joseph Kuhnell Jr. of Kenner and Randall Joseph Kuhnell of Florida; his brother Jay Kuhnell (Cathy) of Chauvin, LA; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Fisher of Lafayette, Elizabeth Williams of Kenner, Kathy Rogers (Kirk) and Emelia Fisher (Kyle) of Lafayette. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

There was one time when he called me on the phone to come and see him in his office; when i approached the door was shut, he waved me in.
