She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Charles Chester Martin; her father Gustave Trahan, Jr.; her sister Lois Cole; and her great grandchildren, Carlin Kate Croft and Faith Becnel.

She is survived by: her mother Irene Carlin Trahan; her children, Charles "Chuck" Martin (Janet), Gary Martin (Joy), Theresa Comeaux (Marc), Philip Martin (Janice), Elizabeth Martin, Emily Martin and John Martin (Lisa); and her grandchildren, Leigh Legg (Ben), Sarah Martin, Monet McCarthy, Melissa DeLaHoussaye (AJ), Gus Martin, Greg Martin, Matt Martin, Melanie Donahue (John), Marc Comeaux (Colleen), Katherine Doucet (Stephen), Katie Latiolais (Si), Andre Martin (Rebecca), Jacob Martin, Monique Becnel (Ricky), Jennifer Anderson (Martin), Candace Martin and Kylie Martin. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren, Mother, and boundless love for her family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 6:30 PM and on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Church (515 Cathedral St, Lafayette, LA 70501).

The family wishes that donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana, The Carmelite Monastery, or any Catholic charity of choice.
