With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Matthew James Schott Sr. of Lafayette, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on August 22, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Schott and Eugenie Oelkers Schott; his siblings, Arthur, Ben, Paul, Rosemary, Steven and Patrick; and his parents-in-law, Mary, Belle, Miles Stevens, Margaret and Joan.
He is survived by: his wife Leah; his children, Jim and Karen Schott of Jackson, MS; his grandchildren, Sarah and Alexander; his children, Christine Schott of Lafayette, LA, Kathleen and Rodolfo Espinoza of Lafayette, LA; his granddaughters, Anna, Leah, Lilly and Maria; his children, Joe and Jen Schott of Wellesley, MA; his grandchildren, Matthew, Meghan and Katie; his children, Karl and Mandy Schott of Lafayette, LA; his granddaughter Marguerite; and also Kathryn (George Green) of Arlington, TX. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
