She was predeceased by: her parents, William Wheatley, Sr. and Clara Fults; her sister Winifred Olivia Wheatley; her sisters-in-law, Mitzi McCann and Valli McCann; and her niece Samantha McCann.
She is survived by: her sons, Scott McCann of Washington, DC and Matthew McCann of Lafayette; her siblings, William Wheatley, Jr., Virginia Ruth Eldridge of Lubbock, TX and Elizabeth Wheatley; her niece Rebecca Hardesty of Mason, OH; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Phillip Bolotte of Lafayette, Shea Stires of Lafayette and Tyler Davis of Alameda, CA; her stepdaughters, Lauren Hue Short of Lafayette and Kellie Johnson of Lafayette; her former husband Randy McCann of Carencro; her brother-in-law Rhett McCann of Houma; and her mother-in-law Sybil McCann of Houma.
