He was predeceased by: his wife Katherine M. Fontenot; his parents, Elie Lezy "Jacques" Fontenot and Eve Pitre Fontenot; his sister Mary Wilda Fontenot; his great grandchild Tyler Nathan Fontenot; and his brother-in-law Robert L. Manuel.
He is survived by: his children, David K. Fontenot (Barbara "Bobbie" Fontenot) of Lafayette and Denise Fontenot (George) of Milton; his grandchildren, Jacques Fontenot, Matthew Fontenot, Aimee Fontenot Boone (Justin) and Mark Fontenot; his great grandchildren, Hayden Boone, Haylee Boone and Hogan Boone Maci Fontenot; his sister-in-law Lucretia Manuel; his niece Leah Manuel Maddox (Jeff); his great-nephew Ethan; his nephew Garrett Manuel (Stephanie); his great-nephew Jaxon; his great-niece Chloe; and also Wilburn Lefler (Ruby) of Hendersonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Nathan's name to Veterans Association of America or Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 1135 Parkview Street, Ville Platte, LA 70586.
