She was predeceased by: her father Joseph Thibodeaux; her grandmother Viola Shelvin; her godfather Leroy Bernard; her sisters, Viola and Cathy Bernard; her stepchildren, Brison and Marquette Porter; and her stepgrandson Virgil Sam.
She is survived by: her mother Brenda Bernard; her husband Percy Porter; her stepfather Ray Carter; her siblings, Elizabeth, Renee, Charlisa and Theo Bernard; her stepchildren, Juanita Thomas (Carroll), Percy Porter, Keisha Polidore (Raymond), Gerald Gabriel and Ladarren Gabriel (Melissa); her goddaughter Jessica Bernard; and her close friends, Cree and Tracy. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Carney Funeral Home (602 N Pierce St, Lafayette, LA 70501). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
