She was predeceased by: her husband George Edward Stewart; her parents, Largest Chaisson and Isabella Chaisson; her brothers, Samuel Chaisson, Nelson Chaisson and Charles Chaisson Sr.; her grandson Rashad Bowser Sr.; and her nephews, Emery Carmouche Jr. and Ross Chaisson.
She is survived by: her children, Tiffany Mouton (James) of Lafayette, LA, Cornelius Stewart (Monique) of San Antonio, Nathaniel Stewart (Tammy) of Pass Christian, MS, Terricka Horton (Steve) of Murfreesboro, TN and Jonathan Stewart of Lafayette, LA.; and her siblings, Gregory Chaisson (Annette) of Lake Charles, LA., Jerome Chaisson (Ramona) of Jeanerette, LA., Gerard Chaisson (Rosa) of San Antonio, TX., Cynthia Castille, Krystal Chaisson of Lafayette, LA, Kathy Carmouche (Emery) of Carencro, LA. and Brenda Huntsberry (Mike) of Abbeville, LA. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
