He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gaspard and Gertrude Wilbert Gauthier; his brother William Gaspard Gauthier, Jr.; and his sister-in-law Michelle Minton Gauthier (Will). He is survived by: his wife Connie Oubre Gauthier; his children, Stephen Todd Gauthier (Christy Tackaberry Gauthier) and Regan Elizabeth Gauthier; his grandson Austin Edward Gauthier; his siblings, Charles Wilbert Gauthier (Will) and Jeanie Gauthier; and his sister-in-law Nita Gauthier (Billy) of Baton Rouge.
