It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sandra L. Rushing of Lafayette, Louisiana, who passed away on February 9, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willard Gypin and Elsie Mae Setliff; her son Kenneth "Buddy" E. J. Hicks, Jr.; her former husband Kenneth Hicks, Sr.; and her husband Robert Rushing.

She is survived by: her children, Greda Leger (Kurt) and Kimberly Denais; her grandchildren, Devinne, Jacob, Brandon Leger, Zachary, Rylie and Buddy Denais; and her siblings, Michael Gypin, Eva Gay Arnold, Sue Phillips and Brenda Wyatt.
