It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilbert Alexander Sr. (Lafayette, Louisiana), who passed away on July 23, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Alexander and Agnes Davis Alexander; his siblings, Mary Babin, Rose Wiltz, Marshall and Felton Alexander; and his grandson Trayvon Alexander.

He is survived by: his sons, Wilbert Paul Alexander, Jr. (Clara) of Breaux Bridge, LA, Jason Craig Alexander of Breaux Bridge, LA and Barry James Alexander (LaKenya) of Broussard, LA.; and his wife Clara Nell Nora Alexander. He is also survived by his three sons; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people in attendance is limited and masks are required.

“I'm saddened to learn of the death of my 7th grade teacher at Teche Elementary in the 1960's in Cecelia, Louisiana. This was before integration of public schools. I will always remember him as a great educator and role model. In fact I became an educator also, because of the admiration I had for him and many other great educators along the way. Thank you my former teacher and mentor. May you Rest In Peace.”
