He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornyle Hakeman and Esther Hakeman; and his brothers, Don, Jerry and Robert'Bob'.

He is survived by: his wife Edna-Mae'Ande'Power Hakeman of Lafayette, LA; his children, Kim'Mik'Hakeman (Lori) of Mansura, LA, Toni Hakeman Brown of Susanville, Chari Hakeman of Broussard, LA and Heidi Hakeman (Charles Henagan) of Mansura, LA; his brother Tom Hakeman (Candy) of Kerrville, Texas; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ramirez (Luis), William Hakeman (Lexi), Tyler Davis (Carlie), Josh Trahan (Amber), Michelle Ormsby (Manley) and Adam Dutra (Melissa); his nephews, Mike and Jeff Hakeman; his granddaughter Lacie; and his caregivers, Patricia, Nikki and Kim. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, and beloved nieces and nephews.

“So sorry to hear of Wild Bill's passing. I did not know him, but I sure enjoyed watching him dance. He had that jump. I didn't know his age back then, but I'm amazed that he could do the jump. It gave my friends and I a lot of fun watching him dance! Prayers for the family.”
