He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert A. Lyons and Francis S. Lyons; his former life partner Alice Mae Benoit Lyons (Katie Treadway Lyons); his grandchildren, Brittany Polasek and Matthew Gorom; and his siblings, Robert Lyons, Jr., Alton Lyons, Francis Lyons, Richard Lyons and Patty Maffit.

He is survived by : his wife Jeannette Bertrand of Welsh, LA; his children, Carol Anne Lyons Buller, Charles W Lyons (Cindy), Renee Lyons Bezdek (Ernest "Sonny"), Mike Gorom (Luanne) and Patti Gorom Landers; his stepson Donald Bertrand; his grandchildren, Mickey, Mandy, Kappi, Megan, Karyn, Kelly, Seth, Frank, Paige, Kyle, Clay and Kimberly; and his great grandchildren, Creed, Crawford, Channing, Emma, Luke, Ethan, Kaia, Avery, Makayla, Richie, Ramsey, Ryder, Mykaela, Mykenzie, Aiden, Nevaeh and Zoey. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home and Bethel Church, both of Jennings.

“I just found out tonight of his passing. Mr. Lyons was a sweet soul that was a wonderful person. I am truly blessed to know him. I called him my muffin man. He made me delicious muffins and dropped them off when visiting the bank that I worked at and brightened my day. He became apart of my family. He will be missed and never forgotten.”
