He was predeceased by: his parents, Vance Benoit of Gueydan, LA. and MayBelle Hungerford Benoit of Gueydan, LA.; his former wives, Patsy Benoit and Lorraine LeGros; his son Kendall Benoit; his grandchild Chelsey Benoit; and his siblings, John Preston Benoit, Vance Benoit, Jr., Harold Benoit, Adeline Chapman and Viola Cucullu.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Fruge Benoit; his children, Michael "Mike" Benoit, Jr., Todd Benoit (Jeanie) and Lucile "Missy" Beard (Drew); his stepchildren, Conrad Breaux (Darrell Fruge) and Misty LeGros (Darren); and his siblings, Joseph Dale Benoit, Francis Benoit, Helen Dupuis and Loretta Godwin. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, five step grandchildren, two great grandchildren and eight step grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Matthews Funeral Home - Lake Arthur (314 Kellogg Ave, Lake Arthur, LA 70549). A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at the Andrus Cove Cemetery Andrus Cove Cemetery.
