He was predeceased by: his parents, Annette Welch and Manny Welch; his in-laws, Lizzie Aguillard and Clarence Aguillard; and his brothers, Claude "Bubba" Welch and Earl Welch.
He is survived by: his wife Germaine Welch; his sons, Drew Welch, Gavin Welch (Bryan Chase) and Marty Welch (Betsy); his stepsons, Curtis Hooper (Michelle), Chad Hooper (Corina) and Chris Hooper (Alisha); and his grandchildren, Caitlyn Chase, Makenzie Chase, Alyssa Soileau, Landen Soileau, Bryce Hooper, Chantelle Hooper, Jade Hooper, Skylar Hooper, Kennedy Hooper and Kamryn Hooper.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (4321 Lake St, Lake Charles, LA 70605). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
