He is survived by: his wife Rita; his sons, Cary Wayne, Jr. and Ryan Phelps; his grandson Braden Alexander of Moss Bluff; his sister Kristine Stewart (Joe) of Tampa, FL; and his sister-in-law Camella of Winter Garden, FL.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (4321 Lake St, Lake Charles, LA 70605). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
