He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Brown and Hazel Hawkins (Joseph); his stepfather George D. Hawkins Sr.; and his siblings, George Hawkins, Wallace Hawkins, Renee Hawkins and Jacquelyn Hawkins.
He is survived by: his sons, Daniel H. Joseph Jr. of Port Arthur and Donnell Joseph (April) of Houston; and his siblings, Larry Hawkins of Lake Charles, Robert Hawkins (Dessie) of Houston, Harry Hawkins (Nancy) of Shreveport and Patricia Hawkins (Glen) of Los Angeles. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
