He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiley Ammons and Liller Mae Ammons; and his great grandchild Layton Cole Stroud. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Ammons; his sister Ellen Hostetler (Frank) of Channelview, TX; his children, Terry Ammons (Marti) of Atlanta, Pam Johnson (Scott) of Atlanta and Todd Ammons (Christy) of Lake Charles; and his stepchildren, Cindy Stroud of Lake Charles, Randy Benevage (Sheila) of Covington and Rusty Benevage (Deidra) of Lake Charles. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
His remarkable career spanned 60 years, during which he made significant contributions to the field.
