He was predeceased by: his parents, George Simmons and Alice Day Simmons; his siblings, George Simmons, Billy Simmons, Larry Simmons, Lonnie Simmons, Ann Cheatham and Mary Peterman; and his grandson Kendall Denney.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Young "Judy" Simmons; his children, Angie Dillon (Mark), Tony Simmons (Sandee), Paul Simmons (Lisa), Greg Simmons (Destini) and Pam Denney (Kirt); and his brothers, John Simmons, Bobby Simmons, Cecil Simmons and Timmy Simmons. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Apostolic Temple Pentecostal Church (2711 W Prien Lake Rd, Lake Charles, LA 70605). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
