He was predeceased by: his parents, Lena Marie Bellard and Lester Pierre Benoit; his wife Margaret Ann David Benoit; and his granddaughters, Nicole Benoit and Payton Cochran.
He is survived by: his children, Denise Benoit Stillings (Mike), Gerald Benoit (Cindy) and Phillip Benoit (Amber); his grandchildren, Heather Fontenot (Dale), Michael Jade Stillings, Michael David "Mikey" Stillings, Jeremy James Benoit (Amanda), Daniel Benoit (Erika), Ashley Benoit and Brittany Benoit; his great grandchildren, Jami, Greysen, Anniston, Lauren, Katherine, Londyn, Braxton, Blakely and Ramie; and his siblings, Rene "Butch" Benoit (Linda), Irma Fruge, Raenella McReary, Faye Broussard (Nolan) and Katherine Marcantel. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
