It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jovita Smith (Lake Charles, Louisiana), born in Hammond, Indiana, who passed away on May 8, 2024, at the age of 54, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her father Jerry Curtis. She is survived by : her mother Brenda Curtis of Poplar Bluff, MO; her husband Marty Smith; her children, Whitney Smith of Jacksonville, FL and Haleigh McCauley (Joe) of Ragley; her siblings, Jerry "Jed" Curtis (Cheryl) of Presque, Shelly Barley (Dave) of Jonesboro, AR and John Curtis (Marcia) of Diggins, MO; and her grandsons, Nolan McCauley and Warren McCauley.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 10th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, May 11th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the First Pentecostal Church (320 Bunker Rd, Lake Charles, LA 70615). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
