She was predeceased by: her parents, Julia Linton King and Samuel Francis King; her husband John "Yankee" Thomas, III; her granddaughter Aarika Joubert; and her siblings, Willie King Sr., Raymond King, Richard King, Dalton King, Lela Mae Valentine, Anna Belle Critian, Verna Mae Antoine, Ruby Robinson and Mary Alexander.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra T. Joubert (Wilmer Johnson), Stephanie Peters (Boyd Peters, Jr.), Joseph Thomas, Reginald Thomas (Cheryl Thomas) and John Patrick Thomas; her grandchildren, Adrian Lynn Thomas, Brandon Thomas, DeMarcus Peters, Dedrick Peters and Daszman Peters; her great grandchild AaQuann Darbonne; her sisters, Florita Wolf (Elray) and Patsy Self (Leon); and her sister-in-law Sharon Thierry. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and neighborhood friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the King's Funeral Home (1611 Gerstner Memorial Dr, Lake Charles, LA 70601). A rosary will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (2031 Opelousas St, Lake Charles, LA 70601). A burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 12:15 PM at the Sacred Heart Cemetery (2646 Opelousas St, Lake Charles, LA 70615).
