It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kenneth Ray Ortego of Lake Charles, Louisiana, who passed away on May 26, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Yves Ortego and Lucille Ortego; his wife Oline Bringol Ortego; his daughters, Charleen and Charlotte; and his brothers, Melvin and Roger Ortego.
He is survived by: his children, Keith Ortego (Stefani) of Ragley, Connie Duffy (Tim) of Lake Charles and Kenny Ortego (Julie) of Broussard, LA; his grandchildren, Ben Sanders, Ashley Naquin, Laura Campbell, Blake Ortego, Ashley Wood, Amber Ormanci, Shayna Manuel, Eric Duffy, Molly and Jack Ortego; his great grandchildren, Gannon, Austyn, Mia Manuel, Nora, Hattie Duffy, Rhett, Judson Campbell, Alexis Bowser, Aidan, Adyson Wood, Emma, Maddox Ormanci, Amelia Sanders and Olivia Sanders; and his brother Jim Ortego. He is also survived by four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the J. E. Hixson Funeral Home (3001 Ryan St, Lake Charles, LA 70601). A rosary was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Chapel of Peace (3001 Ryan St, Lake Charles, LA 70601). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
