She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Gaspard and Telice Gaspard; her daughter Lisa Murphy Savoie; her niece Carla Primeaux; and her siblings, Sylvia Gaspard Guillotte Mangum, Louise McCardle, Thelma Shepherd, Verda Williams, Enell Nash, Letha Cormier Vincent, Carolyn "Shonnie" Primeaux, Gerdell Theriot, Glyn, Nadel, Kirby and Nolan Gaspard.
She is survived by: her husband Guy Murphy, Jr.; her sons, Guy Murphy III (Gina) and Carl (Anna); her grandchildren, Kathryn "Kati Beth" Murphy LaVergne (Brock), Ali Murphy, John Murphy, Kami Savoie Cholley (Josh), Kalyn Savoie (Adam Jones), Kypp Knippers and Tanner Knippers (Coryn); her great grandchildren, Emmi, Easton, Eden Cholley, Aria and Alisa Knippers; and her brother John (Sharon). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church (5250 W Creole Hwy, Cameron, LA 70631). A rosary was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nelvia Murphy's memory may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery Fund, 5250 West Creole Highway, Cameron LA 70631.
