He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ambrose Sr. and Annie Mae Guidry Ambrose; his brother Dr. George Ambrose Jr.; and his brother-in-law Robert Bernard Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Ethel Bernard Ambrose; his children, Fredrick Parker, Roderick Ambrose, David Smith Jr., Elisha Smith Criner and Portia Mims; his nephew George Spencer Ambrose of Richmond, VA; and his niece Shedreka Ledee of Lake Charles.
