It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernell Antionette Stevens of Lake Charles, Louisiana, who passed away on July 4, 2025, at the age of 42, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Larry Stevens; and her grandparents, James, Lucy Franklin, Vernell Mary Carmon and Harry Stevens.
She is survived by: her mother Gloria Franklin Stevens; her children, Dwight Butler Jr., Jeremiah Butler, Geniya Stevens and Kamden Charles Stevens; and her siblings, Iseral Powe, Damius Powe and Larry James Stevens Jr. (Doneisha).
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Refuge Temple Ministries (300 Sprig St, Lake Charles, LA 70615). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
