He was predeceased by: his parents, John Merle Hebert and Flossie Dulaney; his daughter Andrea Hebert Gomez; his grandson Anthony Garlepied; and his brother Kelton Egle.

He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Hebert Garlepied (Ron) and Richard John Hebert Jr.; his granddaughter Lauren Garlepied (Plauche); his sister Sharon Hebert Childress (Marie); his caregiver Henry Lavell Childress Jr.; his nephew Lavell; and his great-nephew Shane Lavell Childress. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
