He is survived by: his daughters, Mary Harmer and Kathleen Carpenter (James); his grandchildren, Alan Harmer, James Carpenter II (Deandra) and Candice Jeane (Nathan); and his great grandchildren, James Carpenter III, Andrew Carpenter, Chelsea Carpenter, Zoe Jeane and Waylen Jeane. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
