He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Prassel; his children, Tara Kay Marler (Jim), Jennifer Kay Templeton (Paul) and Matthew "Scott" Kay (Holly); his grandchildren, Whitton Scott Kay, Hadley Jo Kay and Hollis Hayes Kay; and his sister Penny Kay Williams (Jim). He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Canaan Baptist Church (19190 LA-8, Leesville, LA 71446). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
