He was predeceased by: his parents, George Alcala and Jesusa Gonzalez; his siblings, Alex and Ernestine; his children, Johnny Alcala and Virginia Ellis; and his stepson Gilbert Perez.

He is survived by: his wife Felisha Alcala of Leesville, LA; his children, Joe Victor Alcala (Brenda) of Cedar Hill, TX, Dan Gonali Alcala-Charaba of Tacoma, WA, Hollie Baker Llyod (David) of Tacoma, WA, Sue Ann Alcala of Dallas, TX, Sandy Alcala-Villagran (Abel) of Dallas, TX and Gina Alcala-Parker (Ryan) of Coppell, TX; his stepchildren, Edward Laughlin, Robert Laughlin, Michael Laughlin, Stephanie, Lainee Marze, Della Bush and Dina Winfree; and his siblings, Mary Rios, Margie Carrera, Thelma Delarosa, Gloria Villarreal, Art Alcala and George Alcala Jr.. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren as well as extended family members and friends.
