He was predeceased by: his wife Iona Whitson; his stepson Jeff Jones; his mother Callie Potter; his stepfather Glen Potter; his father Homer Whitson; his stepmother Mary Whitson; his daughters, Belinda Whiteson and Yvonne Denise Whitson; and his siblings, Homer Whitson, Robert Whitson, Charles Whitson, Billy Whitson, Mary Ellen McIntosh, Linda Childers, Gaylene Whitson and Yvonne Silveira.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Sutton and Andrea Edwards (Beaver); his stepsons, Derek Jones (Lorie) and Stan Jones; his grandchildren, Tyler Edwards, Kaelynn Crume (Tyler), Jennica Griffith (Kyle), Charlie Jones, Joe Whitson (Cathy), Javier Gonzalez, Shenna Sutton, Cyrus Jones and Chantell Edwards; and his siblings, Pam Sarazen (Paul), Janet Varela and David Whitson. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
