He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewel Melton and Lottie Melton; his brother Jacob Melton; his granddaughters, BreAnn Nolan and Lena Brewer; his great grandchild Nevaeh Aivazian; his grandson William Wilkinson; and his stepdaughter Peggy Brewer.

He is survived by: his wife Louise Melton; his children, Debbie Nolan and Danny Melton; his stepdaughters, Paula Bonnett (Dwayne) and Tina Landrum (Bill); and his sisters, Joan Kinchen (Johnny) and Diane Morgan. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.
